The Brooklyn Nets won their fifth game in six contests with a steady 97-89 victory over Charlotte. Nic Claxton led the way for Brooklyn with 16 points, while six Nets reached double figures in scoring.
The Nets have been staunched defensively over the recent hot streak, and even with the LaMelo Ball in the fold, Jordi Fernandez's crew was very stingy.
The Hornets shot just 41% from the field and 19.4% from 3-point range. Brooklyn has now pulled to within three games in the loss column of Chicago for the final spot in the play-in tournament.
The Nets will play host to Philadelphia on Wednesday night in the final game before the All-Star break.
If all things break right for Brooklyn, it could be only one game back of the loss column for the final play-in spot.
Cam Johnson will represent the Nets during Saturday night's All-Star 3-point competition.
Before Brooklyn heads into the break, they'll be looking to wrap up the first half of the schedule on a high note.
